Vergara is the quieter side of Cundinamarca
Most travelers who leave Bogotá for a weekend hear the same names first: Villa de Leyva, Guatavita, Villeta, La Vega. Vergara is different. It is still local, quiet and rural enough to feel like a real change of rhythm, while remaining close enough to Bogotá for a short escape.
Yaguari Glamping is located in Vereda El Tigre, about fifteen minutes from Vergara’s town center. From here, the plan can be as calm or as active as you want: mountain views, a private jacuzzi, guided hikes, canopy, rappelling and canyoning.
Adventure activities near Vergara
The most distinctive activities around Yaguari are operated by local specialist guides:
- Canopy: a long zip-line circuit through the forest and valley views.
- Rappelling / torrentismo: a waterfall descent with technical gear and guides.
- Canyoning: walking, swimming and descending through natural waterways.
- Hiking: guided ecological trails through native forest and viewpoints.
You do not need to be an expert. The activities are guided and can be coordinated from the property depending on weather, availability and group level.
Stay in a private-jacuzzi cabin
The Bague cabin is the reason to stay overnight rather than doing Vergara as a quick stop. It has a private terrace, outdoor jacuzzi, kitchen, mountain views and space for up to four guests.
For international travelers, the advantage is logistics: you can land in Bogotá, avoid domestic flights and reach a quiet mountain stay by car. The team can assist in Spanish and English.
Visit the town center
Vergara’s town center is simple in the best way: a local plaza, small restaurants, coffee, mountain air and a slower pace. It is not a polished tourist district. That is the point. It gives context to the rural landscape around El Tigre.
If you have time, ask locally about viewpoints, river spots and the best lunch options in town. Conditions vary by season, so local guidance is more useful than generic travel lists.
How to get there from Bogotá
The drive from Bogotá takes around two hours depending on traffic and departure point. The route follows the western corridor toward Villeta before turning toward Vergara. The final rural stretch can vary with rain, so detailed directions are provided after booking.
For a first visit, arrive during daylight.
